FUIB is launching a project [extra]ordinary — adaptive training for veterans

The project [extra]ordinary, initiated by the platforms «Live towards» and «We Are of the Same Blood» from FUIB bank in partnership with U+ System and the project «Invictus Games» in Ukraine, is starting. The project will provide veterans with free introductory adaptive training, which will take place in partner halls under the guidance of qualified, carefully selected trainers. All involved coaches are trained by experts from the «Invictus Games» project to work professionally, safely and with an understanding of the needs of each program participant.
Also, Volodymyr Moisei — an adaptive trainer, psychologist, and world record holder in powerlifting — will join the project as a mentor.
Why it matters
Adaptive sports are not only about physical health —it is a way to restore the body, improve mental well-being, and rebuild social connections.
Both studies — "Joy of Movement" and "The Impact of Adaptive Sports on the Rehabilitation of Military Personnel and Veterans in Ukraine" — show that sports help reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and PTSD. They also help veterans regain a sense of freedom, confidence, and belonging to the community.
This is not about returning to a “former” life — it’s about building a new one.
We believe that sport creates a space where those who overcome challenges come together, — in movement, in support, in shared victories. The goal of the — project is to show that adaptive sports can become not only a way to recover, but also a way to a new life: with movement, confidence, victories over oneself and new meanings.
The key partner of the [extra]ordinary project — U+System — is a modern center for prosthetics, rehabilitation, and social reintegration of veterans in Kyiv.
Within the project, U+System provides medical and rehabilitation support to veterans and military personnel with injuries, and also coordinates the selection of participants for whom sports can become the next step in recovery. Each year, U+System carries out dozens of field missions across Ukraine, where defenders with amputations receive sports prosthetics, support, and motivation. Participation in [extra]ordinary is a natural continuation of this mission.
How the Project Works
The «We Are of the Same Blood» platform is launching a new area of support — adaptive training for veterans. A special merchandise collection — T-shirts and sweatshirts with unique illustrations and embroidery — was created specifically for the [extra]ordinary project.
The project’s mechanics are simple: 1 purchase = 1 adaptive training session.
You can order the merch at: https://lifesavingmerch.com.ua/nadzvychajni. Every item sold from the collection will be converted into an adaptive training session for a veterans.
While orders are being placed, veterans can already register on the «Live Towards» platform website to gain access to training immediately after verification.
All funds raised go toward personalized training sessions — from strength and water-based activities to dance or even extreme sports. Each purchase becomes a direct act of support, and each training session — a new path to recovery.
[extra]ordinary Drop
The [extra]ordinary collection embodies the idea of uniqueness. The illustrations — a stork, chestnut, viburnum, cornflower, wheat spike, and dandelion — symbolize a sense of wholeness. This collection celebrates the power of transformation — when changes to the body reveal new dimensions of the self.
Together Toward a New Life
[extra]ordinary shows that sport can be a tool for social reintegration.
For veterans, it’s a chance to rediscover themselves through adaptive sports, to believe in their own strength and capabilities — from mastering new skills to building social connections. For caring citizens, it’s an opportunity to contribute to the rebuilding of a new Ukraine — a country that truly includes and supports its veterans.
Every trainer, partner, or merch buyer becomes part of a shared mission — helping our defenders live not just through memories of the past, but with new dreams and goals.
